Imagine what happens when two people, on opposites sides of the world, get together and decide to introduce new concepts to the staid old world of coin research and publishing?

Many things, actually and not all of them pleasant. 

A great amount of time was spent developing Tariq's original concept. Carefully working through colour combinations. Specific colours for specific words. One colour for the coin issuers name, another for the mint name, another for the dates etc. etc. Then working working through various types of coin inscriptions to ensure it works.

Then working through retranslating the coin inscriptions to ensure a little more reality. Let's be honest here, many of the translations were not done with the best of intent. 

Then the first works were produced. Slowly it all came together and by some great fortune we found a main stream publisher who decided to take on the task on publishing not only our first book but also any other books we produced. 

Of course others now slavishly copy our work, often without due care and attention. Pretty colours spread meaninglessly over an image in reality means rather little.

Then came the approach to reproduce our illustrations as hangable artwork. But we needed reassurances that what was produced could stand the test of time.

We initially worked with the great archival paper manufacturer, Hahnemuhle of Germany.  to ensure that the reproduction was completed on the best available archival paper. 

Then it was necessary to look at the quality of the printing inks. Once all was in hand the task of finding a supplier with the best available process and the ability to supply orders worldwide.

We have partnered with the wonderful art reproducer in North America, VSUAL. Working with the best Hahnemuhle paper and the best inks the reproduction is stunning. Our work can be ordered directly from them for worldwide delivery. In North America they are available delivered pre framed with a number of options. For the rest of the world they come as prints carefully packaged and handled.
